Job Title: Charge Nurse (Full Time)

Based At : Fidra House Nursing Home

Shift: Flexible day / night shift & on call per rota

Hours: circa 36- 40 per week

Location: North Berwick

Salary: £15.75 per hour

We have a great opportunity for a Charge Nurse to be based at our Fidra House Nursing Home (a part of the Randolph Hill Nursing Group) in North Berwick. We are looking for an individual with a caring nature that wants a new opportunity in a comfortable and friendly nursing home. The main purpose of the Charge Nurse is to provide professional clinical nursing to all residents, take responsibility during the shift for co-ordinating work and provide inspiration and motivation to the care team.

Responsibilities include :

- Assist the Manager in the daily running of the nursing home as well as staff training, assessments, inductions, supervision and counselling

- Liaise with all personnel to ensure high standards of patient care

- Maintain accurate written records as required by the company and statutory bodies

- Understand the SCSWIS inspection process and assist in the inspection as required

- Provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors

- In the absence of the Manager/Deputy, assume responsibility of operational overview of whole home, complete Head Office and Snr Management reports, delegate daily workload, ensuring efficient and cost effective use of manpower

- Abide by the Nursing & Midwifery Council’s (NMC’s) code of professional conduct

What we’re looking for?

- A Registered Nurse (current pin number with NMC) that holds a Post Registration Qualification

- Supervisory management experience and an ability to motivate staff

- Clear and concise communicator with excellent listening skills

- Experience of ‘Care of the Elderly’ and an understanding of dementia

- An individual that can maintain a positive attitude at all times

- Knowledge of employment law and care home legislation are desirable
